President’s Report:
We received a nice thank you card from one of the 2024 Ohio State Fair participants who won a clock trophy sponsored by our guild in the 4-H quilting competition. Linda shared the card with the group.
Thanks to all who made quilted postcards for the My Dear Friend project. Melissa has collected the cards and sent them off to a nursing home for distribution to the residents.
Congratulations to the new 2025 board. The new board will officially take office January 1, 2025. Susan Shuter, President; Cynthia Adkins, VP; Trish Jacquemin, Secretary; Jennifer Hershner, Treasurer, Dorothy Michalski, Membership Chair; Lanakila Alexander, Social Media Chair; and Melissa Ritts, Charity Chair.

Programming:
Tonight’s meeting was our annual potluck and gift exchange. 10 members participated in the scrap challenge gift exchange.
The Wanderer’s Wife scrap quilt challenge continues. Cynthia has provided FPP patterns for the first 3 sections to those signed up to participate. Final quilt tops should be completed by the September 2025 meeting. The “Wanderer’s Wife” by Jen Kingwell is the suggested pattern, but you may use any “scrappy” quilt design. Finished quilts should be at least 50” x 50” and include at least 25 different fabrics. The idea is to use scraps we already have on hand. If you are making a Wanderer’s Wife quilt and have not been receiving the emails, please email the guild at centralohiomqg@gmail.com so we can get you on that email list which includes FPP patterns for the various blocks.
2025 Retreat – We already have 12 people signed up for the 2025 retreat to take place at the Berlin Grande Hotel November 9-12, 2025. Registration is $55 for members. You can send your payment to the COMQG Paypal account or see Jennifer at the next meeting to pay in person. You will need to reserve your own hotel room. There is a block of rooms reserved for the Central Ohio Modern Quilt Guild at $139 per night.
