Guild member Cynthia Hayes has been considering this design for years, patiently waiting for the perfect time to bring it to life. The design embodies a modern quilt, with its unique bright color, asymmetrical design, variance in scale and simplicity. It measures 60″ x 80″ and perfectly suits a sofa or guest room. This quilt also features a unique backing composed of the remaining fabrics after piecing the front. Members embraced developing their education this year by learning to write up block instructions, sew curves, and longarm quilt.
The third raffle ticket drawn will receive the beautiful wall hanging pictured below. This quilt is actually a result of our previous years’ fundraising efforts, which made it possible for us to hire professional quilter Libs Elliot to travel to Columbus. During her stay the guild hosted her lecture (which was open to the public) and also attended one of her “Embrace the Chaos” classes, where this very quilt was designed and created! Libs shared her knowledge and expertise and guild members were thrilled not only to have the opportunity to learn, but to invite community members to her lecture as well!
