January Meeting Minutes

Date: 1/12/17

Meeting time: 6:30pm

Attendance: 21!!! It was fantastic to see some new faces last night! Please keep inviting people to join us!

We have a lot of requests for specific demos, but we need volunteers! If you did not sign up at the meeting to lead a demo and would like to, please let us know.

February demo – Cassandra will teach us how to English Paper Piece (EPP) WITHOUT paper!

Quilts for Pulse Update:

The Orlando MQG sent us a lovely thank you note for the quilt we sent. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Our bylaws need to be revised to provide more clarification and remove any contradictory wording. We are looking for 2-3 members from the group to participate in reviewing the current bylaws and working up the revisions. This project would start in February/March. Let us know if you are interested!

We voted to make the 2017 guild year dues to $35. The additional funds will allow us to plan fun and exciting events such as having a speaker. Of the dues approximately $15 of the dues go to the Modern Quilt Guild organization & $20 stay with our local guild.

Please bring your dues to the February meeting, or you may send payment to Cristin Wilson (please email Central Ohio MQG for her address). Checks are preferred. If paying by check, please make it out to Central Ohio Modern Quilt Guild.

For the $15 of dues that go to the MQG organization we all receive access to a monthly, block pattern, a monthly quilt pattern, monthly webinars (which are accessible later, too), Show pass for Quilt Con (the vendors & display), a pin, membership card & more.

Cassandra has reached out to OSU Star House and is awaiting a reply.
