The Central Ohio Modern Quilt Guild is excited to be in the midst of its first fundraising effort – a quilt raffle!

Members of the guild met mid-June at the Northern Lights library to piece together the finished blocks that were collected at the June meeting.

We reviewed the layout and had to do some creative calculations to make the best use of our background fabric.

Working together to ensure proper placement of our blocks.

Even with all the hard work, there were a lot of happy faces as we were in our element – sewing together! We love “sewcial” events!

After some clever phone camera and filter use to check balance – and minimal seam ripping! – the top headed home with award-winning quilter Cassandra Beaver to be quilted.

The quilt then traveled with Cristy, who attached the binding on her vacation (probably while lounging lakeside in this hammock). It was nearly a photo finish, but the quilt was completed and delivered to the Ohio State Fair on time!
