Virtual Meeting
April 9, 2020

President Marah Light scheduled this month’s meeting on Zoom.

Marah called the meeting to order at 6:41.  She welcomed all participants (17) and further explained the use of the Zoom platform for members.  Social committee provided an ice breaker using the new platform.

Old Business:
Mary’s bag making workshop: Consideration for doing a virtual tutorial or postponing until September is not yet decided. More info later.

The name tag swap will be postponed until we return for live meetings.

The Sherry Lynn Wood workshop is on schedule. Cynthia and Moira have discussed possible options with the speaker, if we need to reschedule due to Corona Virus restrictions.  Happy Hour/ June meeting is scheduled for June 26 and will be free to members, $10 for guests.  Workshop is scheduled for June 27 and will cost $55 for members.  If all spots are not filled, committee will decide when to open up for non-members.  Members can register through the guild site Pay Pal.

State Fair Update: Entries are due June 20.  Drop off of quilts is July 17-18.  Cassandra is asking for volunteers for judging and for set up/tear down responsibilities for July 19-20.

Members are continuing to complete monthly instructions working towards completion of the 2020 Mystery Quilt. Marah will be sending out instructions for the next month.  Please contact her if you do not have the instructions.

Charity: Jenny announced that Camp Kasem has been cancelled due to Corona Virus. Approximately 50 bags have been completed.
Jenny did a demonstration on how to make a mask. Instructions are on the website.

One member completed the color challenge for 2020 and will win the prize!

A virtual sew-in has been scheduled for this Saturday April 11 using an Instagram format. Members are asked to join in and share the projects they are working on as well as a virtual tour of their sewing area. Moira will send members details on how to use the platform.  She presented a brief tutorial at the close of the meeting to help members new to posting on Instagram.

The virtual meeting concluded at 8 pm.
Next meeting will be May 14.
