President’s report:
Membership dues will increase from $35 to $45 for 2023. Members of the Central Ohio MQG are
automatically members of the National MQG at no additional charge. Please send your 2023 dues via
PayPal to the Central Ohio Modern Quilt Guild by the February meeting. If you have any questions
regarding dues or payment process, please contact Linda directly.
Treasurer’s Report:
Current balance is $3,000
The Guild has purchased a Square, so we can now accept credit card payments if necessary. There is a
charge for each credit card transaction so we would like to keep this option to a minimum.
Please pay your 2023 $45 membership dues via PayPal by 2/9/23. If you need an alternative to PayPal,
please contact Linda Selby directly to make those arrangements. Discounted rates are available based
on need. Please contact Linda Selby directly for more information.
Membership:
A member survey was emailed on 1/13 that includes a request for updated contact information and
release for sharing photos, etc. Please complete the google docs form when you receive it. We will use
this information for our roster.
Sewing Circles: We will send out a new Sewing Circle survey and invite members to existing circles or
establish new ones based on interests. If you have an idea for a new sewing circle, please feel free to
reach out to Dorothy. Kathy F. suggested a handwork circle at the meeting.
Fund Raising:
National Quilt Day luncheon March 18, 2023 at The Franklin Park Conservatory 11am-4pm. Nicole
Young of LillyElla Stitchery will be our guest speaker. Lunch will be catered by Creative Cuisine. Tickets
are on sale now at EventBrite for $80 each and there is a 100-person limit. This will include lunch,
admission to the conservatory, the program by Nicole Young, SWAG bags/ favors and door prizes. There
will be a silent auction with some very nice, themed gift baskets. Postcards to promote the event have
been printed.
Kits to make pin cushions from Nicole Young designs for prizes were distributed at the December
meeting. If you took a kit, please try to have it complete by the January Sew-In. You only need to piece
the top. Two sew-in dates have been scheduled for working on favors and prizes. January 28 at the
Dublin Library 10:30-2:30. And another on February 18 in Hilliard.

If you are a member of another quilt guild and can extend a personal invitation, please contact Patty or Cynthia A. for postcards
to pass out. As part of our order of business Kathy F. motioned to pay the remaining $625 for the rental of the
conservatory for the event. Dorothy seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
Kathy F. also motioned to formally approve the $2,700 down payment for catering which has already
been made. Jeny seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

add other colors and use solids or prints. We will have the Color challenge Show and tell at the June
