authored 2 books and several patterns using improv design techniques. More about Carole, her classes

President’s report
Maker’s Tote class was at the main library on 6/4/22, 9:30-4:30, by Mary Maben. 9 members enjoyed
a day of sewing together making the Noodlehead Designs “Maker’s Tote”.
QuiltCon 2023 The Community Quilt theme is “Gradient Colors”. The Challenge for this year is “Modern
X”. The 2023 Teachers have been announced including our own, Cassandra Beaver. Course schedule
should be out June 20 for members. If you are a member of the Central Ohio MQG, you
are also a member of the national MQG.
Treasurer Report
We now have a Venmo account for transactions in addition to our PayPal account;
$3,900 in the treasury and 29 dues-paid members.
Social Media Kate sent out an email to membership with information to sign up for blog alerts. On
the main webpage, there is a field on the right-hand sidebar to enter your email address for receiving blog alerts (monthly meeting minutes).
Secretary’s report Postcards for those participating in the Postcard challenge are due at the October 13th
Guild meeting. We will swap our postcards with other members of our small groups.
Fund Raising
Holiday Raffle Quilt. The winning design is Cassandra’s “Festive Baubles” pattern. This is a foundation
paper pieced quilt. A sign-up genius will be sent out so we can select the bauble we would like to make.
We would like everyone to make a bauble with the kits that will be provided. We will have sew-ins at the Dublin Library on both 6/25 and 7/9 for members to work on completing the quilt together. This will also be a good opportunity to learn FPP from other members. Even if you are not working on the raffle quilt, please feel free to bring your own project and join us at the sew-ins. Cassandra has some FPP tutorials on her website, TheNotSoDramaticLife.com/bonus-baubles.
National Quilt Day luncheon March 18, 2023 The Franklin Park Conservatory has been reserved for our
event. We are now looking at caterers to provide lunch. Barb motioned to approve a deposit of about $1,250 for the catering, Lissa seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

We will extend an invitation to other guilds and quilters. We’d like to have save the date cards made in
time to pass out at the Ohio State Fair as well as local quilt shops. Next steps include securing a speaker
and setting up planning committees. Please let Patty know if you have a suggestion for a speaker or if
you can assist with a planning committee.
Guild Programming Continued
The guild still has a deposit for Sherri Lynn Wood to come as a guest speaker. The original date was
cancelled due to COVID-19, but Sherri will honor the contract for a future date. Her prices have increased
significantly since 2020. We have the option of cancelling, having her join us virtually, or having her join
us in person. After much discussion it was decided we would invite her to join us in person in 2023 at a
date TBD, but after the March Luncheon.
Charity Project 4-H pouches. Construction of the pouches is almost complete. We are still looking for
small notions to fit inside the bags which are about 9”x 7.5”. Our goal is 140 pouches. If you know of
anyone that might like to include something, please let Lissa know. We currently have tape measures
from Sew to Speak and thread from Aurifil.
